Here is an archive of information and software to help you get a hard drive up and running on the BBC / Master. The original notes are in the files: Winchester_v1.rtf Winchester_v2.rtf These contain revisions 1 & 2 of the notes and can be read by most word processors including Write or Wordpad under Windows. The notes are basically in their original format except that the authors name has been removed at his request along with contact information. The programs listed in v1 of the notes are also included in this archive in the BBC archive format. They are: HDFORM HDINIT VERIFY If you need more information about the archive format and how to use it, then please go to "The BBC Lives" - http://www.nvg.unit.no/bbc/ - you will find everything you need here. SASI-BBC.ZIP contains the original artwork for the BBC. Please look at the readme.txt there. Also included is a HDTOOLS.ZIP, this should be unziped with the -d option as it contains a directory stucture. Again all the files are in the archive format. The files contained here are a bit of a mixture. Some are from the original article - \oak and some are from magazines. Some have been adapted for other hard drives, and I decided to leave them all together for completeness. Many of these files have longer than "BBC" standard filenames as they were on an ADFS format of disc. So be carefull. This documentation is placed in the public domain, and you are free to copy it as long as it is not copied or published for commercial gain. There is also no longer any form of support from the articles originators, and the best way that you could obtain help if you need it is probably through the BBC list on the internet, where many knowledgeable people "hang out". For details, see the page reagarding Internet resources at the BBC lives web site. If anyone does have this board up and running or is currently attempting to do so, I would be pleased to hear from you, especially with details of your setup. Drop me a mail. Thanks must also be given to Steven Bass, Andy Fox and Dr. Stephen Cumpson for helping out with getting this project together.
