disk drive not 'seeking'

HELP!
This BBC B 32k Acorn DFS has been in my loft for 10 years and everything was fine then.
Now Iv'e got it back down the disks will spin but the arm and head does not seek.
Ive re-seated all the removeable chips/power & data cables, resoldered (yawn) all the joints AND emptied the ashtrays, but it don't wanna work.
Does anyone have any Ideas?
