Never even knew it existed! smile-emoticon 3 uur · Vind ik leuk · 2 Paul Freakley After the main work on the M128 was done and before the release the idea was to have as many cartridge options as possible to show what the cartridge port could do. Myself and a colleague were given the task of designing the speech. 3 uur · Vind ik leuk Phill Harvey-Smith Would be good to trace the schematic of that 3 uur · Vind ik leuk · 1 Paul Freakley Quite a basic circuit....Same as the BBC B speech section (TMS5220, 6100) with the extra address and chip select decoding, tri- state buffers and amp with filter. 1 uur · Vind ik leuk Andrew Paul I had assumed the Acorn cartridges were all just roms. Were there any other funky cartridges which never saw the light of day? 1 uur · Vind ik leuk Mark Haysman Need to get Dave Hitchins on the case on this one for a remake. 4 uur · Vind ik leuk · 2 Mike Rendall What went in IC2? A ROM - Did the original model B version need a ROM too? 3 uur · Vind ik leuk Paul Freakley IC2 was for a ROM. The original model B used the 'SOUND' command with -1 as the first variable to access the speech circuits. The software was never developed for this cartridge. As the addressing for the speech cartridge was unique, the SOUND command could have been reallocated but it would have been a better design to put the commands in the rom (IC2). 3 uur · Vind ik leuk Ray Fenwick Yeah, I'd have one of those.. 3 uur · Vind ik leuk Paul Freakley Quite a basic circuit....Same as the BBC B speech section (TMS5220, 6100) with the extra address and chip select decoding, tri- state buffers and amp with filter.
